  • Curriculum

    more less

The Early Years and Preschool Centre follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. The EYFS sets standards for all early year's providers to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe through observation, assessment and planning. A child's experience in the early years has a major impact on their future. Every child deserves the best possible start in life.

Children develop continually and vary in their individual development. We endeavour to provide opportunities and experiences through a wide range of activities to meet their individual needs. The EYFS learning and development requirements comprise of seven areas of learning which give children a broad range of skills and knowledge for good future progress.

    Ìý

Three areas known as the prime areas of learning are particularly crucial to the development of babies and children under 2 years. These are:

    • Personal Social and Emotional Development
    • Communication and Language Development
    • Physical Development

    Ìý

There are also four specific areas of learning:

    Ìý

    • Literacy
    • Mathematics
    • Understanding the World
    • Expressive Arts and Design
