We're really proud to be the number one General Further Education College in Greater Manchester for 16-18 achievement rates for higher level qualifications. We were also graded 2 for 'Good' at our last Ofsted inspection!

  • My young person didn't do well in their GCSEs...

    We’ll help your young person to achieve that vital English and maths GCSE grade 9-4 if they haven’t done so already, which is essential for their chosen Higher Education course or future career. Find out more about maths and English at 51²è¹Ý here.
  • What financial support is available?

    Your young person may be entitled to financial help while they study with us. Our Student Services Team are always on hand to ensure funding is never an issue and to provide advice on bursary entitlements.

    We also provide free daily breakfast, so that our students are ready to learn at the start of their day, and a free Our Pass for daily travel, not just to and from College, but across Greater Manchester.
    For students on a hairdressing, make-up or beauty course, we’ll provide free kits to train with, worth up to £370! Construction students receive a free CSCS card which is essential for construction site work.

    We love meeting parents and carers at our Open Events. Just come along with your young person to get a feel for what studying at 51²è¹Ý is like. You’ll be able to have a chat with our tutors to help your young person decide which course is best for them.

  • What about learning outside the classroom?

    We’re committed to supporting personal development, enhancing their College experience with opportunities outside of the classroom.

    Cross-college events include outdoor team building activities; local and international trips; and the opportunity to apply for the Duke of Edinburgh Award plus more! These will enhance their personal and social skills, and build confidence, so that they have the skills employers are looking for.
  • How else will the College benefit my young person?

    Your young person will leave College with a range of life skills, demonstrating their good work ethic to potential employers.

    Attending lessons on time; being punctual; arriving ready to learn; showing respect to tutors and classmates; working hard - all behaviours that will stick with them after College, helping them to succeed in their future career.

    There’s a range of study programmes and Apprenticeships that your young person can choose from at 51²è¹Ý. Our study programmes are more than just a qualification – they’re designed to help young people step into their chosen careers or progress to university. We offer a range of subject areas to suit their goals and interests, from Entry Level through to Higher Education.
