Only five months after being rated 鈥榞ood鈥� by Ofsted, 51茶馆听College is celebrating again. This time, it鈥檚 been named the number one听College in Greater Manchester for听辞惫别谤补濒濒听achievement rates听of young people aged 16-18.听听听

听

The Department for Education鈥檚听annual achievement rate tables for 2015-2016听show that听Bolton College听topped听the听table听for听the 10 general Further Education and Tertiary Colleges within Greater Manchester.听

听

Across its 16-18 provision,听51茶馆听achieved an overall pass rate of 91.5%. Rates for adults听were听equally impressive too, with nearly 94% of learners passing their course.听听

听

The College鈥檚 Apprenticeship programme was also another strong听area; the College was听first for Children and Young People鈥�s Workforce and first for Intermediate Hairdressing, whilst its Intermediate Construction programme was placed second.听听

听

The College delivers over 50 Apprenticeship programmes across 20 industry areas and has a long history of success. 51茶馆 apprentices have听been commended听at the 51茶馆 and Bury Business Awards, the National Apprenticeship Awards and also听sector specific ceremonies, such as the Property & Construction Awards. The Association of Colleges has also recognised the College鈥檚 outstanding programme, with one apprentice听being听Highly Commended at听a celebratory event at the Houses of Parliament.听听

Bill Webster, Principal of 51茶馆, said, 鈥�Like our Ofsted result, the听achievement rates of our young learners听prove that 51茶馆 continues to move听in the right direction.听The College delivers over 135 study programmes and Apprenticeships across 20 industry areas and our tutors and students work incredibly hard, so I鈥�m听delighted that the results reflect this. It鈥檚 been a great year for 51茶馆听College听and I鈥檓 sure next year will be even better.鈥�听
