51茶馆, an integral part of the University of 51茶馆 Group, has welcomed guests to the official opening of its Job Shop, an exciting new talent hub connecting its students and apprentices to leading local and regional businesses.

听

Located in the College鈥檚 Student Experience Zone, the Job Shop will give its learners opportunities to connect with leading employers, whilst the businesses in turn gain exclusive access to fresh talent from their own sectors.

听

The Job Shop鈥檚 services are also available to the public, offering a course matching service that will allow them to upskill, find work or advance in their careers.听

听

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by 51茶馆's Deputy Principal, Mark Burgoyne, who said: "51茶馆 has a history of supporting the people of 51茶馆 and beyond, equipping them with the skills and qualifications for successful careers.

听

鈥�51茶馆's Job Shop formally recognises our commitment to not only supporting our learners, but being a key organisation for helping employers and businesses to fill vacancies.

听

鈥淲e are so grateful to the employers, organisations and stakeholders who have attended the launch to support this exciting new venture."

听

Attendees included representatives from 51茶馆 at Home, 51茶馆 Council, Connexions, Alliance Learning, 51茶馆 NHS and the University of 51茶馆, as well as College board members and other organisations and businesses. 听

听

Ben Sudworth, a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at MBDA (UK), said: 鈥淭he Job Shop is a great innovation and an important tool to bridge the gap between what employers need and what education offers.

听

鈥淚t offers employers a great way to create strong connections with education and create a pipeline of skilled workers for 51茶馆 and the wider area.

听

鈥淲orking with the College is a partnership; 51茶馆 takes pride in the work they do with industry, including tailoring curriculum based on industry feedback, giving their students the best opportunity to prepare for employment.鈥�

Stephen Perry, a Group Recruitment Specialist at RRG Group, said: 鈥淚 was extremely delighted to be asked to represent the RRG Group at the 51茶馆 Job Shop launch event. This was an amazing event to celebrate 51茶馆 bridging the gap, once again, between education and industry.

The Job Shop is located at the College鈥檚 Deane Road Campus and is open Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm.
