Eight 51²è¹Ý students are celebrating after landing Apprenticeship rolesÌýat Equipe Tyre & Autocare.Ìý

The students, who are progressing from full-time Motor Vehicle courses to Level 2 Apprenticeships, have each secured positions in Equipe branches throughout the North West.Ìý

51²è¹ÝÌýCollege’s Motor Vehicle DepartmentÌýandÌýBusiness Development TeamÌýcollaborated with EquipeÌýto sourceÌýsuitableÌýlearnersÌýfor the roles.ÌýThe successful students each took part in a rigorous interview process at the College.Ìý

EquipeÌýTyre & Autocare is the largest independent organisation of its kindÌýin the North West, and is entering into itsÌýfifteenth year of trading. It currently operates through nine Service Centres,ÌýwithÌýsitesÌýinÌýEccles and Tyldsley, as well as the 51²è¹Ý branch located on Manchester Road.ÌýÌýÌý

Peter Alstead, Head of Motor Vehicle at the College, said ‘It’s always a pleasure to work with local employers and meet their workforce needs. I’m sure that the students who obtained employment at Equipe will do the College proud, and prove any confidence in them well founded’.Ìý

The students will spendÌýfour days a week at Equipe, and oneÌýday a week in the College’s STEM CentreÌýMotor VehicleÌýworkshop, perfecting their skillsÌýbeforeÌýbecoming fully qualified mechanics.Ìý

Billy Carberry, Area ManagerÌýat Equipe, said: ‘We are serious about investing in existing staff with training and we’re always looking to improve our standing in the automotive repair and replacement market. It’s been a fantastic opportunity to partner up with 51²è¹Ý and take on these apprentices and meet the needs of our growing successful business. I’ve been really impressed with the apprentices, the staff and the set-up at College. I’m sure if the lads continue to work hard, they will go far; apprentices are a valuable asset to the company, and its future, moving forward.’Ìý
