  • Overview of the course

    The Level 3 Barbering Course is delivered in our state of the art Hairdressing Academy which includes 5 large air conditioned studios all designed to provide realistic hairdressing/ barbering working environments. You will enjoy and participate in a varied teaching and training programme. This intensive barbering course will enable you to be at the level which the barbering industry requires from its barbers. You will be taught specialist skills including up to date techniques in creative cutting hair, cutting facial hair, shaving and facial massage skills. This course is ideal for the enthusiastic learner that has a real passion for barbering and wishes to progress towards senior level positions in the industry. The tible is very intense and will include working on clients in the real working environment, whilst developing your creativity and vision.

    Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon.
    Consultation support for colleagues on hair services.
    Cut men's hair to create a variety of looks.
    Cut facial hair to create a variety of looks.
    Provide shaving and facial massage services.
  • Entry requirements

    • GCSE English at grade 4 (or above) or GCSE Maths at grade 4 (or above)
    • Completion of Level 2
  • How will I be assessed?

    You will be assessed on a continual basis. Practical skills will be assessed on clients in a realistic working environment with industrial timings, oral questioning is also used. Theory assessments consist of online testing, assignments and portfolio work.
  • Is there anything else I need to know?

    An essential part of this demanding course is includes: excellent attendance, a good record of punctuality and study, attendance at seminars, shows and competitions. You will be actively encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to enter internal and external hairdressing competitions including the BBA British Barbering Association competitions, prestigious World Skills and Wella exposure competitions and GM comps.

    You will also be expected to provide a Level 3 barbering kit (no electrical equipment) approx. £129.00, a salon tunic approx. £23 or a gents polo shirt approx. £12 and black full shoes . It is encouraged and recommended when possible you arrange your own models for assessment purposes.

    You could progress onto Higher Education: Level 4 teaching qualification. Go on to other hairdressing and barbering short courses. Seek employment as a barber, technical representative, work on a cruise ship; or even own your own barbers.
