    You can join this course if English is your second language and you would like to get involved in promoting learning/volunteering opportunities to members of hard to reach groups. The course increases your understanding of British culture your community and is part of the Volunteering in the Community programme. The course will also improve and develop your employability skills.

    You will:
    • Become aware of the various types of holidays associated with the UK.
    • Explore and identify some of the main historic houses/stately homes visited in the UK.
    • Become familiar with places of interest commonly visited by British families in the UK.
    • Research and become familiar with museums open to the public in the UK.

    You must be over 19 years old. You also need to come to college with a good attitude and be prepared to work hard.
  • How will I be assessed?

    As this is a non-accredited course (not a qualification) you will work towards a college certificate of achievement by passing all your agreed learning outcomes.

    • A ring binder folder to keep your work organised is essential.
    • You will also need to bring a pen and a notepad to take notes.

Your tutor will give you advice and guidance on other courses within the college and can also signpost you for more advice and training.

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, pleasecontact us via our Live Chat service available on any page of our website.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
