• • I completed the six-week taster course and enjoyed it so much that I decided to come back and get a qualification. I’ve progressed through Levels 1 and 2, and I love how practical the courses are. I particularly like using royal icing; you pipe it, so the decorations are more intricate and you can be really artistic with your designs. I even entered Cake International – ‘The Sugarcraft, Cake Decorating & Baking Show’ – and was awarded Gold!

  • I gave up the 9-5 a few years ago to make my dream of running a cake decorating business a reality. The practical nature of the course has been a big positive and I’ve learnt lots of new techniques that I can now use to grow my business. I’ll definitely continue with my studies in the future.

• • I’ve always enjoyed baking, especially as I’ve got older and have more spare time now my children are growing up. The facilities at 51²è¹Ý are fantastic and there’s always plenty of equipment available for students to use. The course is structured so that we are given a brief to follow but the freedom to put our own spin on the finished design and use our own creative ideas. Cake decorating is a hobby for now and I’ll be making plenty of cakes for friends and family in the future I’m sure!
