Welcome

Welcome to Brownlow Fold Community Learning Centre. Located in Eskrick Street in Halliwell, we deliver first step learning opportunities and also act as a stepping stone to further education, training or employment. Our extensive range of courses are provided in a friendly, welcoming and warm environment.

Learners come from a wide geographical area, including Halliwell, Crompton, Tonge Moor, Tonge Fold, Heaton, Oldhams Estate, Breightmet, Darcy Lever, Johnson Fold, Hall i’th’ Wood, Harwood and the Haulgh.

Our friendly, experienced and approachable team works hard to identify the needs of the community and translate these into tailored learning provision. At the heart of our work is a strong commitment to the idea that learning should be fun.

You can enrol at any of our Community Learning Centres.

    • I was getting married and wanted to do my own flowers, so the floristry courses were perfect. I started on a beginners course, then progressed to Floristry Levels 1 then 2. My class turned in to a really close knit little group, we’re friendly and stay in touch, so not only have I picked up some fantastic skills, I’ve made a lot of new friends too!

    • I left school with CSEs in Needlecraft, Art and Cookery and I’m a mother to three children. I’ve really embraced learning at 51²è¹Ý, and benefited from a multitude of courses, including iPad for Beginners and also Computers for Beginners. This year, I was rewarded for my efforts with a visit from the Mayor, who presented me with a certificate in recognition of my progression in further learning.
